WordVibe (Moonshot): a teacher's guide
Whole class · All ages · A1 to C1
Guess the secret word from its clue in six tries, like Wordle. Every wrong guess burns one of the rocket's fuel cells. Crack it and Barry blasts off to the Moon.
What students do
The class reads the clue and suggests a word. You type it. Each letter turns a colour: right spot, in the word but in the wrong spot, or not in the word. The class uses the colours to make a better guess.
How to run it
- Press Fuel up! on the start screen.
- Take suggestions from different students, or let pairs agree a guess first.
- Fewer guesses score more. After six wrong guesses the word is shown and the next rocket comes up.
Ages and levels
Works for children, teens and adults. Choose the word length when you make it, so younger classes get shorter words.
Lesson ideas
- Vocabulary review: the words from last lesson, with clues in simple English.
- Spelling warm-up: five words, five minutes, at the start of class.
- Clue writers: students write the clues for next week's game.
After the game
WordVibe is scored in Class results and has a worksheet. See how to print a worksheet.
