What Are You Doing Today?
A board game where 8–9-year-old A2 learners describe present actions and daily plans. Players move around a 24-space board, answering questions about what they and others are doing right now, and what they plan to do later. The game practises present continuous naturally through pair talk, team discussion, and action-based prompts.

Speaking prompts on the board

- What are you doing?
- Act out painting a picture. Your team guesses what you are doing.
- Describe what you are wearing right now. Say colours and clothes.
- Ask your partner what they are planning to do after school.
- Your team must agree: what is everyone doing right now?
- Stand up and mime dancing. Tell us: I am dancing.
- Explain what you are going to do this evening. Say two things.
- Ask your partner what they are reading or watching today.
- Act out playing your favourite game. Your partner guesses the game.
- Compare: what are you doing now and what will you do later?
- You have 30 seconds to present your plan for this afternoon.
- Discuss with your group: what are your favourite things to do?
- Show with your hands: what are you doing when you brush your teeth?
- Ask your partner what time they are having dinner tonight.
- Describe what your friend is doing in class right now.
- Act out eating breakfast. Say: I am eating... and name the food.
