Travel Around the World
Adults at CEFR A1 level travel around a 24-space board, answering speaking prompts about destinations, transport, and holiday experiences. Four teams compete by answering pair-talk questions, acting out travel scenarios, and presenting mini-travel plans. Chance cards add surprise movement and micro-speaking tasks.

Speaking prompts on the board
- Ask your partner what is their favourite country and why they like it.
- Act out arriving at an airport. Your team guesses where you are going.
- Describe your favourite beach or mountain. What do you see and feel there?
- Ask your partner how they travel to work or school every day.
- Your team must agree on the best time of year to visit your country.
- Stand up and mime packing a suitcase for a two-week holiday.
- Explain what you usually pack in your bag when you travel.
- Ask your partner about a memorable trip they took and what happened.
- You have 60 seconds to present your dream holiday destination and why.
- Discuss with your group what activities you like to do on vacation.
- Compare two types of transport. Which is faster, cheaper, or more comfortable?
- Act out ordering food in a restaurant in another country.
- Describe the weather in your country during summer and winter.
- Ask your partner what souvenirs they like to buy when traveling.
- Your team must agree on three things tourists should see in your city.
- Show with your hands how you would greet someone from another culture.
- Explain how you would get from your home to the nearest airport.
- You have 30 seconds to present a short travel safety tip to your group.
- Discuss with your group the best way to save money for a holiday.
- Act out checking in at a hotel and asking for a room.
- Ask your partner about the most interesting place they have visited.
- Compare traveling by train and traveling by car. Which do you prefer?
- Describe one famous landmark or building in your country or another country.
- Ask your partner what is one place they would like to visit and why.
