Story
- You sat in your backyard after dark. You found an old torch under the garden shed. It was the brightest torch you had ever seen! You thought about exploring the forest near your home. Would you go alone or ask your friend to come with you?
- You walked into the forest alone with your torch. The forest was darker and scarier than you thought. Suddenly, you heard a strange sound above you. You looked up and saw a bat! The bat was smaller than you expected, but it was the fastest animal you had ever seen.
- Your friend arrived quickly and you both entered the forest together. You felt braver with your friend beside you. The torch made the path clearer and safer. Your friend said, 'This is the best adventure ever!' You nodded and grinned. Suddenly, you both saw something amazing in the trees.
- You followed the bat deeper into the dark forest. The bat was nocturnal and very active at night. You walked for a long time and got lost. Your torch battery was getting weaker. You realized you made a mistake by coming alone. You felt worried and tired.
- You stayed in one place and shined your torch around. The light was very strong and bright. You saw many small animals running away. The bat flew back to you and it was less scary than before. You realized the forest was not as dangerous as you thought. You felt calmer and more confident.
- You and your friend walked toward the amazing thing. Your torch light showed a beautiful clearing with many animals. There were owls in the trees and hedgehogs on the ground. The owls were the biggest birds you had ever seen. Your friend replied, 'Look! These are nocturnal animals!' You both felt…
- You and your friend decided to go home. It was getting late and dark. Your parents would worry if you stayed out too long. You walked home together with your torch. The walk home was shorter and easier than you expected. You felt safe and happy to be home with your family.
- You continued exploring near the forest edge. This was the safest choice because you could see your home. You found many small nocturnal animals like mice and insects. Your torch helped you see everything clearly. You learned that the smallest animals are often the most interesting. After one hour,…
