A free Story Adventure for Young learners at CEFR A2 level. Topic: random acts of kindness.
Story
- You are walking home from school. You see an old man sitting on a bench. He looks sad and tired. His shopping bags are on the ground next to him. What do you do?
- The old man smiles. 'Thank you!' he says. 'My house is just down the street.' You help him carry his bags. You feel good about helping a stranger. He gives you a sandwich from his bag. 'You are very kind,' he says.
- You walk past the old man without talking to him. Later at home, you feel a little bad. You think about his sad face. You wonder if you should have helped. You decide to do something kind tomorrow to feel better.
- You visit the old man again the next day. His name is Mr. Park. He teaches you how to cook his special soup. You become good friends. Every week you help him and learn new things. Helping a stranger became helping a friend!
- You go home feeling happy. You tell your family about the kind old man. Your mother says, 'You did something wonderful today!' You eat the sandwich and smile. That night, you sleep well, thinking about your kind action.
- You go back to the park the next day to find the old man. But he is not there. You look around, but you cannot find him. You feel sad that you did not help when you had the chance. You decide to be kinder every day from now on.
- You help your mother cook dinner and clean the house. She is very happy. 'Thank you for helping me!' she says. You feel good because you helped someone you love. Kindness at home is also very important.
- You are walking home when you drop all your school books. A girl from your class stops to help you. 'Here, let me help!' she says. You pick up the books together. You thank her and feel grateful. She smiles and says, 'We should help each other!'
