Story
- You arrive at the busy food market on Saturday morning. There are many colorful stalls with fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, and fish. Your grandmother asked you to buy ingredients for dinner tonight. You have money in your pocket and feel excited about cooking.
- You walk to the vegetable stall. The seller shows you fresh tomatoes, onions, potatoes, and carrots. Everything looks delicious and colorful. She tells you that the tomatoes came from the farm this morning.
- You arrive at the meat and fish stall. The seller has fresh chicken, beef, and fish on ice. She smiles and asks what you need today. You think about what your grandmother likes to cook.
- The vegetable seller tells you about a delicious soup recipe. She says you need tomatoes, onions, carrots, and potatoes. You write down the recipe on a piece of paper. She gives you a special herb called basil to make it taste better.
- You walk around the market looking for rice. You find a stall with many types of rice—white rice, brown rice, and special rice. The seller tells you that white rice is best for fish. You decide to buy white rice and fresh fish.
- You go back to the vegetable stall and buy carrots, onions, and cabbage. Now you have fish, rice, and vegetables. The market is very busy and crowded. You feel happy because you have everything for a complete, healthy meal.
- At the fruit stall, you see apples, bananas, oranges, and strawberries. The fruit looks sweet and fresh. The seller gives you a free apple to taste. You decide to buy some strawberries for dessert after dinner.
- You buy fresh chicken and go straight home. Your grandmother is happy to see you. She cooks the chicken with salt and pepper. The chicken smells wonderful, but you realize you forgot to buy vegetables or rice.
