Story
- Hi! My name is Maya. I love playing outside and trying new activities. Today is special because I can choose what season I want to visit first. Winter is cold and snowy. Spring is warm and green. Summer is hot and sunny. Autumn has beautiful leaves. Which season do you like best?
- Wow! I am in winter now. Everything is white and cold. I see snow on the trees and on the ground. My friend Tom is here. He says, 'I like making a snowman! Do you want to help me?' I think this is fun. What do you want to do?
- Great choice! Tom and I make a big snowman together. We use snow for the body and rocks for the eyes. We make a big smile with sticks. Tom says, 'I like making a snowman with you!' The snowman looks very happy. We have fun all afternoon.
- I go to the lake. But oh no! The lake is frozen. I cannot go sailing here in winter because the water is ice. I am sad. Tom comes and says, 'Winter is not good for sailing. Let's make a snowman instead.' I agree with Tom.
- Now I am in spring! The weather is warm and nice. Everything is green. I see flowers growing. My friend Sarah is here. She says, 'I like planting flowers! Do you want to plant flowers with me?' I think this is a good idea. Or maybe I want to play outside and have a picnic?
- Sarah and I plant flowers in the garden. We put seeds in the soil. We water the flowers with water. Sarah says, 'I like planting flowers because they are beautiful!' The flowers are red, yellow, and pink. We are very happy.
- Sarah and I have a picnic in the park. We sit on the grass and eat sandwiches. We eat fruit and drink juice. The weather is warm and nice. But then the sky becomes dark. It rains! Sarah says, 'Oh no! We must go home now.' Our picnic is short.
- I am in summer now! It is very hot and sunny. The sky is bright blue. I see the beach near me. My friend Jack is here. He says, 'I like going to the beach and swimming! Do you want to come with me?' This sounds fun! Or maybe I want to go hiking in the mountains?
