Summer Stories: First Week Back
A classic classroom board game where young learners share their summer holiday experiences using simple past tense and present simple. Players move around a 24-space board by answering speaking prompts about where they went, what they did, and who they were with during the summer holidays.

Speaking prompts on the board
- Ask your partner where they went on holiday in the summer.
- Describe one fun thing you did during your summer holidays.
- Ask your partner who went on holiday with them.
- Act out your favorite summer activity — your partner guesses what it is.
- Your team must agree: what was the best thing about summer?
- Ask your partner if they went to the beach or the mountains.
- Compare your summer to your partner's summer in one sentence.
- Stand up and mime eating your favorite summer food.
- You have 30 seconds to present one memory from your summer holiday.
- Discuss with your group: did you like summer more than school?
- Ask your partner what the weather was like during their holiday.
- Explain why you liked or did not like your summer holiday.
- Act out getting ready for a summer trip — pack your bag with actions.
- Your team must decide: beach or mountains? Give one reason.
