Sports Sprint Board Game
Young learners race around a 24-space board answering questions, acting out sports, and discussing their favourite games. Players use pair talk, team discussion, gestures, and mini-presentations to practise A2 sports vocabulary and simple sentences.

Speaking prompts on the board
- Act out playing tennis. Your partner guesses which sport you are doing.
- Your team must agree: which sport is the most fun to play together?
- Describe your favourite football player. What do they look like and why do you like them?
- Stand up and mime swimming. Can your team guess what sport you are doing?
- Ask your partner if they can ride a bike. How did they learn to do it?
- You have 30 seconds to present one sport you play at school. Say what you do.
- Discuss with your group: do you like playing sports inside or outside? Why?
- Compare basketball and volleyball. Which one is easier? Tell us why you think so.
- Act out catching a ball. Show with your hands how high or low you catch it.
- Ask your partner what sport they would like to learn. What would they need to play it?
- Explain how to play your favourite sport. Use simple words your group can understand.
- Your team must agree on the best sport to play in winter. Say why you chose it.
- Stand up and mime running a race. Show how fast you run with your body movements.
- Describe what you wear when you play your favourite sport. Use colours and materials.
- Ask your partner if they have ever fallen down while playing a sport. What happened?
- You have 45 seconds to present a sport you watch on TV. Say why you enjoy watching it.
- Discuss with your group: which sport needs a ball, a bat, or a net? Give examples.
- Act out playing hockey. Show how you hold the stick and move on the ice.
- Compare playing sports alone and playing with friends. Which do you prefer and why?
- Ask your partner what they had for lunch after their last sports lesson or game.
- Explain the rules of one sport. Use words like ball, kick, throw, catch, or score.
- Your team must agree: who is the best sports player in your school? Why do you think so?
- Stand up and mime doing yoga or stretching. Show three different moves with your body.
