Sound Seekers: A Phonics Adventure
Young learners race around a 24-space board, landing on phonics-based speaking prompts. Players identify sounds, ask each other questions, act out words, and work together to practise initial consonants, vowel sounds, and simple blends. Chance cards add surprises and extra speaking opportunities.

Speaking prompts on the board
- Ask your partner what sound the letter 'S' makes. Can you say a word that starts with that sound?
- Act out an animal that starts with the letter 'B'. Your partner guesses which animal you are.
- Your team must agree: what is one word that starts with the letter 'C'? Say it together.
- Ask your partner: what is your favourite colour? Say the colour and a word that starts with that letter.
- Stand up and mime eating different foods. Your partner says the foods. Do they start with 'F' or 'P'?
- Describe a pet you like. What sound does it make? Can you say the word?
- Ask your partner: do you like to jump or run? Explain why you like that activity.
- Your team must agree on one word that starts with 'M'. Say it three times together.
- Show with your hands: how big is a dog? How big is a cat? Which is bigger?
- Discuss with your group: what words start with the letter 'T'? Say at least two words.
- Act out getting dressed in the morning. Say what clothes you put on. Do they start with 'S' or 'H'?
- Ask your partner: what do you eat for breakfast? Say one food and describe the colour.
- You have 30 seconds to present: say three words that start with the letter 'D'. Use them in short sentences.
- Stand up and show: how do you feel today? Are you happy, sad, or tired? Say the word.
- Describe your favourite toy or game. What colour is it? What letter does it start with?
- Your team must agree: what is one word that starts with 'L'? Can you spell it together?
- Ask your partner: what animals do you like? Say two animals and their sounds.
- Act out playing a sport. Your partner guesses the sport. Does it start with 'R', 'S', or 'F'?
- Discuss with your group: what words start with the letter 'N'? Say at least three words together.
- Show with your hands: how do you wash your face? Say what you use. Does it start with 'W'?
- Ask your partner: what is your favourite number? Say the number and a word that starts with 'N'.
- You have 30 seconds to present: say four words that start with the letter 'G'. Say them clearly.
- Act out your morning routine: wake up, brush teeth, get dressed. Say what you are doing.
- Describe your school bag or classroom. What colours do you see? What words start with 'B' or 'C'?
