It is your first day at a new school, and the cafeteria is full of strangers. Choose where to sit and what to do. Every choice changes your lunch adventure!
A free Story Adventure for Teens at CEFR A2 level. Topic: First day at a new school: joining a group at lunch.
Story
- It is your first day at Riverside School. At noon, you walk into the crowded cafeteria with your lunch tray. You feel nervous because you don't know anyone. On the left, some students are drawing comics, and on the right, the football team is laughing loudly.
- You walk to the comic table and introduce yourself. A girl with green glasses smiles. 'I'm Mia. We are making a comic for the school magazine,' she says. 'Can you draw?'
- 'Yes, I love drawing!' you say. Mia gives you a pencil, and you start to sketch a big dragon. Suddenly, your elbow hits your orange juice, and there is a big orange spill on the paper! Everyone stops and looks at you.
- You laugh and say, 'Look, the dragon is breathing orange fire now!' You add a few lines, and the spill becomes cool dragon fire. Mia and her friends love it. 'There is a comic contest in the library after school,' Mia says. 'Do you want to join our team?'
- You feel embarrassed, and you apologize again and again. You clean the paper with a napkin, but the dragon is gone. Mia smiles kindly. 'Don't worry, it's only paper,' she says.
- 'Not really, but I like writing stories,' you say. Mia's friend Omar looks excited. 'Great! Our comic has amazing pictures, but it has no story yet,' he says. 'Do you have an idea?'
- You sit down at the football team's table. The team captain, Leo, looks at you. 'We have a lunch challenge in the yard today, and we need one more player,' he says. 'Are you brave enough to play?'
- You eat your sandwich quickly and run to the yard with the team. The game is fast and exciting. Then the ball comes to you! The goal is far away, but your teammate Nina is free near the goal.
