Speaking prompts on the board
- I am... Tell the group: 'I am ___ years old' and 'I am from ___'. Two sentences, two pronouns!
- Ask your partner: 'Who is in your family?' Their answer must use 'She is...' OR 'He is...' for each person.
- She is + family member: Describe one woman in your family without saying her name. Your team guesses: mum? aunt? grandma?
- He is + family member: Describe one man in your family using THREE adjectives. Group guesses who.
- It is + animal: Mime an animal! Your team guesses with: 'It is a ___'. Take turns!
- Pair-talk: Tell your partner about your two best friends. Use 'They are ___' to describe them.
- I am + student: Tell the group: 'I am a student at ___ school. I am in class ___.'
- Ask your partner: 'Tell me about your grandma or grandpa.' Their answer: 'She is...' or 'He is...'
- Ask your partner: 'Have you got a pet?' If yes — 'It is a ___'. If no — ask about a pet they want.
- Group: Take turns! Each person says one sentence about a friend using 'He is' or 'She is'. No repeats!
- Mime a family member doing something (cooking, working, sleeping). Your team says: 'She is ___ing' or 'He is ___ing'.
- Ask your partner: 'What's your favourite animal?' Answer: 'It is a ___. It is ___ (colour). It can ___.'
- Tell the group ONE thing about each person who lives in your house. Use 'She is/He is/They are/I am'.
- Pair-talk: Ask your partner about a baby in their family (cousin, brother, sister). 'He is...' or 'She is...'
- Group: Each person names an animal they like. Build a team list using 'It is...': 'It is fast', 'It is big'...
- He is or She is + your teacher: Describe one teacher (without saying their name). Your team guesses!
- Mini-presentation: Tell the group about your school for ONE minute. Use 'I am...', 'They are...' (classmates), 'She/He is...' (teacher) at least once each.
- Quick! Look at your bag. Name three things in it: 'They are my ___'.
- Ask your partner: 'Are your friends in this class?' Use 'They are ___' (in this class / not in this class). Tell the group what your partner said.
- Mime: a noisy animal! Your team uses 'It is...' to describe what it sounds like. ('It is loud!' 'It is a dog!')
- Group: Together, name ten family words (mum, dad, sister...). Take turns. Then pick three: 'She is my ___', 'He is my ___', 'They are my ___'.
- Ask your partner: 'Do you like cats or dogs?' Answer: 'I like ___ because they are ___' (use 'they are' for the group of animals).
- Tell the group: 'I am good at ___' and 'I am NOT good at ___'. Two sentences using 'I am'!
- Final challenge! Each team member: say ONE sentence using 'I am', 'She is', 'He is', 'It is', or 'They are'. The team with five different pronouns wins!
