NYC Adventures: Places to Visit & Eat

Adults travel around a 24-space NYC board, landing on prompts about iconic attractions and restaurants. Players speak in pairs, teams, and solo presentations to describe experiences, compare venues, and persuade others. B1 learners practise extended discourse on tourism and dining culture.

Speaking prompts on the board

  1. Ask your partner which NYC restaurant they would like to try and why they chose it.
  2. Describe your favourite type of food and explain why you enjoy eating it.

  15. Your team must agree: which NYC food — pizza, bagels, or hot dogs — is most famous?
  16. Ask your partner about their ideal vacation — where would they go and what would they eat?
  17. Explain how you would spend a perfect day in Brooklyn, including where you would eat.
  18. You have 45 seconds to present a restaurant you know — describe the food and atmosphere.
