Board Game: Noun Phrase Quest (A2, Young learners, 24 prompts)

A classic board game where young learners (A2) describe objects, people, and places using expanded noun phrases. Players move around the board by answering speaking prompts that encourage them to use descriptive language in real communicative situations.

  1. Ask your partner what their favorite food is and describe it with three words.
  2. Describe a toy or game you like. Use at least two describing words.
  3. Your team must agree: what is the best animal? Describe it together.
  4. Act out wearing different clothes. Your partner guesses what you are wearing.
  5. Ask your partner about their school bag. What color is it? What is inside?
  6. Describe your best friend. What do they look like? What do they like?
  7. Stand up and mime eating your favorite food. Your team guesses what it is.

  9. Ask your partner what they did last weekend. Describe one thing they did.

  11. You have 30 seconds to describe your perfect day. What do you do?
  12. Show with your hands: describe a tall building, a small house, and a fast car.
  13. Ask your partner about their family. Describe one person they tell you about.
  14. Your team must agree: what is the most beautiful color? Why?
  15. Act out your morning routine. Show getting up, eating, and going to school.
  16. Describe a place you like to go. Is it big or small? What do you do there?

  18. Describe your favorite book or film. Who is in it? What happens?
