My Word List Game

A classic A1 speaking board game where young learners talk about their daily routines, animals, school objects, and families. Players move around the board answering questions and acting out prompts to build speaking confidence.

Speaking prompts on the board

  1. Ask your partner what time they wake up in the morning.
  2. Act out brushing your teeth. Your partner guesses what you do.
  3. Describe what you eat for breakfast. Use the words: bread, milk, or fruit.
  4. Ask your partner what animal they like and why they like it.
  5. Your team must agree: what is a big animal and what is a small animal?
  6. Act out an animal. Stand up and move like it. Say the animal name.
  7. Show with your hands: how big is a cat? How big is an elephant?
  8. Ask your partner: do you have a pet? What is it? What color is it?
  9. Explain where your pencil is. Say: my pencil is on, under, or in...
  10. You have 30 seconds to show your school bag. Say what is inside it.
  11. Discuss with your group: what school objects do you have? Make a list.
  12. Act out writing with a pencil, then reading a book. Say both actions.
  13. Ask your partner: what color is your notebook? Do you like that color?
  14. Describe one person in your family. Say their name and one thing they do.
  15. You have 60 seconds to tell the class about your family. Say 3 names.
  16. Show with your hands: how tall is your mother? How tall are you?
  17. Your team must agree: who is in a family? Name 4 family members.
  18. Ask your partner: do you have a brother or sister? What is their name?
  19. Act out getting dressed for school. Say the clothes you put on.
  20. Explain your favorite part of the day. Say when it is and what you do.
  21. Show with your body: how do you sit at school? How do you stand?
  22. Discuss with your group: what do you do after school? Agree on one thing.
  23. Ask your partner: what is your favorite animal at school or at home?
  24. You have 30 seconds to present: describe one school object and say its color.
