Speaking prompts on the board
- Tell the group: What is one thing you do EVERY day? Use 'always': 'I always ___'.
- Ask your partner: How often do you eat fruit? Their answer must use always, usually, sometimes, or never.
- Mime: a child who NEVER wants to go to bed. Your team guesses what you're showing.
- Quick survey! Ask three classmates: 'How often do you watch TV?' Tell the group the most common answer.
- Tell the group: Do you USUALLY eat vegetables? Say one you like and one you don't.
- Ask your partner: Who do you ALWAYS play with at the weekend? Then your partner asks you.
- Team challenge: Together, list five things students USUALLY do at school. Take turns saying one each.
- Mime: brushing your teeth, but slowly! Your team says: 'You ALWAYS brush your teeth' or 'You SOMETIMES brush your teeth'?
- Tell the group: How often do you eat cake? Use ALWAYS, USUALLY, SOMETIMES, or NEVER in a full sentence.
- Ask your partner: How do you USUALLY get to school? Bus, car, walking, or bike?
- Group: Where do you live? In your country, does it OFTEN rain or HARDLY EVER rain? Take turns.
- Tell the group: I always/never ___ before bed. Your group guesses if it's true or false.
- Ask your partner: How often do you use a phone or tablet? More than 1 hour? Less than 1 hour?
- Mini-presentation: Tell the group your weekly screen-time routine. Use 'always', 'usually', 'sometimes', and 'never' at least once.
- Mime: a sport you SOMETIMES do. Your team guesses the sport.
- Quick: Pizza or pasta? How often do you eat each? Use a frequency adverb in your answer.
- Ask your partner: Do you OFTEN read books? What was the last one? They ask you the same.
- Tell the group: What time do you USUALLY wake up on a school day? Compare with one classmate.
- Team challenge: Share one song each that you ALWAYS listen to. Build a 4-song team playlist.
- Ask your partner: Do you USUALLY drink milk for breakfast? What do you have instead?
- Tell the group: Have you got a pet? How often do you play with it? If no pet, ask a friend.
- Group: Who in your family ALWAYS does the cleaning? Who NEVER does it? Take turns.
- Ask your partner: When do you USUALLY have a birthday party? At home, at a restaurant, at school?
- Tell the group one thing you HARDLY EVER do in winter — and one thing you ALWAYS do.
- Final challenge! Each team member says one sentence using a different frequency adverb (always, usually, often, sometimes, hardly ever, never). No repeats!
