Speaking prompts on the board
- Tell your team one word you immediately associate with Easter — and explain in one sentence why.
- Ask your partner: What do you usually do on Easter Sunday with your family? Share two specific memories from past years.
- Ask your partner about a food they only eat at Easter. Why is it special? Then describe yours.
- Each person in your group: name an Easter tradition from a different country (real or invented). Vote on the most fun and the strangest.
- Mime an Easter activity — egg hunt, egg painting, eating chocolate, going to church. Your team has 30 seconds to guess.
- Some people argue Easter has become too commercial. Do you agree? Defend your view with two specific examples.
- Tell the group about the best Easter you can remember — where you were, who you were with, and what made it memorable. Speak for at least one minute.
- Ask your partner: If you could spend Easter anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Then swap.
- Describe a funny or unusual thing that happened at an Easter celebration you've attended.
- Without speaking, act out eating too much chocolate. Your group describes what you're feeling using at least three adjectives.
- As a team, list five things that symbolise Easter and explain what each one represents. Take turns.
- Ask your partner: Did you believe in the Easter Bunny as a child? When and how did you stop?
- Imagine your friend has never celebrated Easter. Explain in three sentences what it is and why people celebrate it.
- Easter falls on a different date every year. Why is that? Guess if you don't know — then say whether you think holidays should have fixed dates.
- Role-play with your partner: you're hosting an Easter dinner. Your partner is vegetarian. Plan the menu together — discuss what dishes work and which to substitute.
- As a team, build a story together. One person starts: 'Last Easter, I was about to find the biggest chocolate egg when…' Each person adds one sentence in turn.
- Name three things you'd find in a typical Easter basket. Then name one thing that should be there but usually isn't.
- How is Easter celebrated differently in your country compared to other countries? Share something specific you've heard about or seen.
