Daily Routines Race

A 24-space board game where young learners speak about their daily routines, habits, and time-management. Players move forward by answering authentic questions about what they do each day, asking partners about their routines, acting out morning and evening tasks, and discussing weekend plans. Designed for A2 learners aged 7–10.

Speaking prompts on the board

  1. Ask your partner what time they wake up and what they do first.
  2. Act out brushing your teeth. Your partner guesses what you are doing.
  3. What do you eat for breakfast? Describe it to the class.
  4. Your team must agree: what is the best time to eat lunch?
  5. Ask your partner what they do after school. Do they play or study?
  6. Stand up and mime getting dressed. Your team guesses your clothes.
  7. Describe your favourite time of day and explain why you like it.
  8. Ask your partner: do they help at home? What do they do?
  9. You have 30 seconds to present your morning routine from wake-up to school.
  10. Act out eating lunch. Show how hungry or full you are with your face.
  11. Compare your bedtime with your partner's bedtime. Who goes to bed earlier?
  12. Discuss with your group: what is hard about your daily routine?
  13. What do you do on the weekend? Explain two activities you enjoy.
  14. Show with your hands how you brush your hair. Mime slowly or quickly.
  15. Ask your partner: what is the last thing they do before bed?
  16. You have 60 seconds to convince your team that your routine is the best.
  17. Describe what you wear to school. What colour is your uniform or shirt?
  18. Act out getting ready for bed. Brush teeth, change clothes, and yawn big.
  19. Discuss with your group: when do you do homework? Morning or evening?
  20. Ask your partner: do they have a pet? When do they feed it?
  21. Explain your evening routine. What do you do after dinner? How long?
  22. Stand up and show how you walk to school. Are you fast or slow?
  23. Compare your weekday with your weekend. What is different? What is same?
  24. You have 30 seconds to tell the class your favourite part of each day.
