Daily Routine Race

A 24-space board game where young learners aged 7–9 speak about their daily routines. Players move around the board by answering speaking prompts about waking up, meals, school, play, and bedtime. Chance cards add surprise moves and quick speaking tasks. Teams compete to reach the finish line first.

Speaking prompts on the board

  1. Ask your partner what time they wake up and what they do first.
  2. Act out brushing your teeth. Your team guesses how long you brush.
  3. Describe what you eat for breakfast. Do you like it?
  4. Your team must agree: what is the best breakfast food?
  5. Ask your partner how they go to school. Do they walk or ride?
  6. Stand up and mime getting dressed. Your team guesses what you wear.
  7. What is your favorite subject at school? Why do you like it?
  8. Ask your partner what they do at lunch. Who do they sit with?
  9. Discuss with your group: what is fun to do after school?
  10. You have 30 seconds to present your favorite after-school activity.
  11. Act out playing your favorite sport or game. Others guess what it is.
  12. Who helps you with homework? What subject do you need help with?
  13. Describe what you eat for dinner. Is it hot or cold?
  14. Ask your partner what they do before bed. Do they read or watch TV?
  15. Your team must agree: what time is a good bedtime for children?
  16. Stand up and show with your hands how you brush your hair.
  17. Explain what you do on Saturday morning. Do you sleep late?
  18. Ask your partner about their weekend. What is their favorite thing to do?
  19. You have 30 seconds to present your perfect weekend day.
  20. Compare your morning routine with your partner's. How are they different?
  21. Discuss with your group: what is the busiest time of your day?
  22. Act out your bedtime routine. Your team says what you are doing.
  23. Ask your partner: do you have a pet? What do they do in the morning?
  24. Describe your favorite part of your day. Why do you like it?
