Character Quest: A2 Speaking Board Game
Teens travel a 24-space board answering questions and completing speaking tasks about fictional and real-world characters. Tasks include pair interviews, team discussions, mime performances, and mini-presentations. Players earn turns by speaking confidently in English.

Speaking prompts on the board
- Ask your partner which character from a book or film they like most and why.
- Describe a character you know well. What do they look like and what are they good at?
- Act out how your favourite superhero walks and moves. Your team guesses who it is.
- Your team must agree on one character trait that makes a good friend. Explain your choice.
- Ask your partner what character from a movie they would like to be and why.
- Compare two characters from different films. How are they similar and different?
- Stand up and mime a character's daily routine. Can your group guess who they are?
- Explain what makes a character brave. Give one example from a story you know.
- You have 60 seconds to present a character you admire. Describe their personality and actions.
- Ask your partner if they prefer heroes or villains in stories and ask them why.
- Describe a character who is kind. What does this character do to help others?
- Your team must agree: which character skill would be most useful in real life?
- Act out a character showing three different emotions. Your partner names each feeling.
- Explain how a character you know changed or grew during their story.
- Discuss with your group: would you like to be friends with a character from a film?
- You have 30 seconds to present your ideal character. What powers or skills do they have?
- Ask your partner what character talent they wish they had and why.
- Describe a character's weakness or problem. How do they overcome it?
- Stand up and show with your body how a character feels when they succeed.
- Compare yourself to a character. What do you have in common? What is different?
- Your team must agree on the best character lesson from a story you all know.
- Explain what you would do if you met your favourite character in real life.
- Act out a character's special skill or talent. Your group tries to guess what it is.
- Describe a character who inspires you. What do you learn from their story?
