Around the World: A Travel Speaking Game
Young learners travel around the world by speaking about their journeys, favourite places, and travel experiences. Each space presents a genuine communicative task—asking partners about their trips, acting out travel situations, or describing dream destinations. Teams race to the finish by completing speaking tasks at each stop.

Speaking prompts on the board
- Ask your partner where they went last summer and what they did there.
- Act out getting on an airplane. Your team guesses what you are doing.
- Your team must agree: which country do you want to visit and why?
- Describe your favourite place to visit. Use at least three sentences.
- Ask your partner: have you ever been to the beach? What did you do?
- Stand up and mime packing a suitcase. Your team guesses what you pack.
- What is the best food you ate on holiday? Describe how it tasted.
- Ask your partner: what is your favourite thing to do on a trip?
- You have 30 seconds to present your dream holiday to your team.
- Compare two places you know. Which one is more fun? Why?
- Act out checking into a hotel. Show the receptionist your passport.
- Discuss with your group: what do you need to bring on a plane trip?
- Explain why you want to visit one country. Give two good reasons.
- Ask your partner: what animals did you see on your last trip?
- Show with your hands: how big was the biggest fish or animal you saw?
- What souvenir did you buy or want to buy? Describe it to the class.
- Your team must agree: is it better to travel by plane, train, or car?
- Act out taking a photo at a famous place. Show your best smile!
- You have 45 seconds to tell the class about a person you met on holiday.
- Ask your partner: what is the hottest or coldest place you have been to?
- Describe the most interesting building or place you have ever seen.
- Act out being lost in a city. Ask another team for directions in English.
- Discuss with your group: what is the best souvenir to bring home from a trip?
- Explain your perfect holiday. Where would you go and who would you go with?
