Airport Adventure
Travel around the airport board, completing speaking tasks at each gate. Answer questions, act out airport scenes, and work with your team to reach the departure lounge. A2 young learners will practise describing journeys, asking about travel experiences, and role-playing airport situations.

Speaking prompts on the board
- Ask your partner what they packed in their bag for a trip.
- Act out checking in your suitcase at the desk.
- Your team must agree: what is the best thing to eat at an airport?
- Describe what you see when you walk into an airport terminal.
- Ask your partner where they went on their last holiday and what they did.
- You have 30 seconds to present: describe your ideal airplane seat.
- Compare an airport with a train station. What is different?
- Discuss with your group: what should you do while waiting for your flight?
- Ask your partner: have you ever been on a plane? Where did you go?
- Act out a passenger buying a ticket at the counter.
- Explain what happens when you arrive at the airport.
- Your team must agree: what is the scariest part of flying?
- Show with your hands: how tall is the airplane you want to fly in?
- You have 60 seconds to convince your team: which country should we visit?
- Ask your partner: what do you do on an airplane to stay happy?
- Describe a passenger sitting next to you on a plane.
- Act out ordering food and drink from the flight attendant.
- Compare flying with taking a car. Which is faster and why?
- Discuss with your group: what do you need to bring to the airport?
- You have 30 seconds to present: describe your dream holiday destination.

- Stand up and mime landing the airplane. Show what passengers do.
