Ability Adventure: Can & Can't Board Game
A 24-space speaking board game where young learners practise can/can't for abilities. Players land on spaces and answer prompts about what they and others can or cannot do. Includes pair-talk, team discussions, action tasks, and mini-presentations. Vocabulary covers sports, music, cooking, and hobbies.

Speaking prompts on the board
- Ask your partner what sport they can play. Listen and say if you can play it too.
- Act out swimming. Your team guesses what you are doing.
- Describe one thing you can do really well. Why is it easy for you?
- Ask your partner if they can ride a bike. What about a horse?
- Your team must agree: who can sing the best in your group?
- Stand up and mime playing the piano. Can your team name the instrument?
- What can your best friend do that you cannot do? Explain why.
- Ask your partner if they can cook. What food can they make?
- You have 30 seconds to present: describe three things you can do well.
- Discuss with your group: who can play computer games the longest?
- Act out drawing a picture. Show if it is good or bad drawing.
- Compare yourself to your partner: what can you do that they cannot?
- Ask your partner: can they make cupcakes? Do they like baking?
- Explain one thing you cannot do yet but want to learn soon.
- Your team must agree: what can a five-year-old child do and not do?
- Stand up and show us how you dance. Can your team copy you?
- What can your teacher do that you cannot? Name two things.
- Ask your partner what they could not do last year but can do now.
- You have 45 seconds to convince your team: why can you be a good footballer?
- Discuss with your group: can animals do the same things as humans?
- Act out singing badly. Show us your worst singing voice!
- Describe what your mum or dad can do better than you. Why?
- Ask your partner: can they draw animals? What animal do they draw best?
- You have 60 seconds to present: all the things your family can do together.
